Schedules can get very demanding so fast-food is an option for many of us. Fast food chains are now trying to move into a healthier direction when it comes to their menu items. With the attention of the media, there have been major changes to a few fast-food chains including McDonalds, KFC and Domino's Pizza. However, the food items are not the root of the problem. The condiments can play an even higher role when it comes to unhealthy eating. In one pack of ketchup from McDonalds, there's 110mg of sodium.
How do you ensure that you are mainting a healthy diet when you're on-the-go?
I am glad to see that fast food chains are offering healthier selections, but I'm still tempted to order somthing fried and full of calories evertime I go in. To combat this, I try to take some food with me so I'm not tempted to stop and fill up on something that isn't good for me. Even a glass of instant breakfast and a small carton of milk purchased at a convenience store is better than a Big Mac and fries. Oh yeah, please super size that, lol.
If I stop at a fast food place, it's because I'm eating on the go. I can't hold/eat a salad while I'm driving and I refuse to pay $2 for a few apple slices. Fast Food chains should be seen as a treat or a Sunday outting, not dinner for the whole family 4 nights a week when they don't feel like ordering pizza.
Because Of where I live. we dont have the problem of fast food chains. Not that we dont have them but For myself and my family we pack a lunch . We go to the local store pick up what we would like in our lunches and that is what we have. because I am a stay at home wife I don't leave the home often and when I do I still pack a lunch . I find its so much healthier and I dont have to worry about what I am putting in my system because I know its not nasty!
I used to eat fast food all the time, my boyfriend worked at McDonalds and was a manager so I would eat it whenever he worked! I have been trying to loose weight and working out every day for the last 8 months but my stomach area is not going down! I have concluded that it is because of the fast food that I am not loosing pounds. He recently moved out of state so I am not going to be tempted by him bringing home mcdonalds anymore lol. So to eat healthy on the go I recommend making a protein shake before you leave the house or bringing healthy snacks with you
