I just enrolled into cooking and catering and I was wondering how everyone in this course is liking it so far? What are things you like about it or things you don't like about it?
I am getting ready to start on my third lesson and I love it. I work as a chef assistant under two chefs and they help me on the things I find difficult. Both the chefs have been to culinary school and they are impressed with the things the Gourmet Cooking and Catering program offer.
That's good that you like the course. I am sure I will like it!!! I love to cook!!!
Hi ....I am on lesson 14 now and I was really into 13 Artizan Bread .I used 4 bags of Gold metal Bread Flour lol . I have the push and pull down on my Bread kneading and my friend Sue is mad at me .....she swears she gained 5 pounds from my French Bread . I served it warm with fresh Butter , I loved the Incredible aroma filling the house. I have so enjoyed my Ashworth College and the recipes are 1st rate !!! .....I will take more Culinary Courses if offered at Ashworth College . Happy Valentine's Day .....I made Creme Brulee and Its my Favorite . Thankx Dawn <3

Hi, I have joined the Ashworth Culinary Arts College for Gourmet Cooking and Catering. I love it. I already landed a career working as a Chef/Baker in the Local Hospital where I work at. But learning new skills and recipes is always helpfull. I am able to create new dishes and deserts for the Hospital all the time. Its so much fun!
One thing that I have not figured out as of yet, who is my exact instructer? Who do I go to when I have a question on a test or I don't understand something in one of the leasons? I would LOVE to be able to contact somone directly through email. Does anyone here have any idea who I can contact? I already have a question and I dont really want to post my question in a public forum. I want a more personal contact person than a public forum. Thank you-ChefShelly
I completed it last month and it was great. The only part I didn't like was the time management part, Having served in two branches of the U.S. military that part was no problem for me and kind of boring...lol I took the course mainly so I can prepare better meals for my wife, maybe some day I'll open up a little resturant or catering business. ![]()
Just got my materials and I'm ready to get going. Am excited about this new bold adventure!!
Congratulations! Feel free to email me with any questions, ideas or concerns. I am sure we will be talking in the near future.

Chef Shelly,
It's great to hear that you are enjoying the course work and your new job!
The person you need to contact for test questions or course work questions is Melissa Holder. She then directs them to myself.
I am uncertain if there is a link to my email on my home profile page. I will certainly inquire and get back to you. Until then; I do receive all blog posts via my email and will get back to you promplty if you have any direct questions for me.
Best of luck,
Chef Cathleen
This is a late post but Im in the program now and hope to finish it up by April. Im on lesson 13 now.. Im also taking culinary classes at the nearby college. Its very helpful to do both because i get hands on experience there but most everyting I have already learned in Ashworths program. Its very exciting to have the knowledge base of the study materials from Ashworth. Im a book worm so its especially helps me.
hi im on lesson 16 and i want to finish but i think im nervous about my next step. I currently work at golden corral so i have a nice amount of experience but to start something of my own is a bit intimidating.
I have also just enrolled into this course.
I just enrolled in this program last night and can't wait to get my materials! Will we only really be able to "start" once we have them? By the way, what exactly are all the materials that we get?
I just enrolled as well i can't wait to get start make friends with my same interest and goals. good luck to you.
