When I clicked on the 'Green Action Tab", the only choices I have are 1) receive email notifications, 2) send an email, 3) convert discussion to document, 4) View as PDF, 5) View print preview, and 6) bookmark this.  There is nothing that says anything about my profile and how to change it

i still dont undertand where im suppose to click when i click on the green tab to edit my profile..theres no "edit profile" selection.

to edit your profile you have to be in your profile and then click the green action tab and then when it drops down it will say all that stuff.

If I post something and start a discussion, how do I find it again to see the results of the discussion???

I think I got it.

Its really not that hard to understand.  The green action tab will bring up different options depending where in the site u r.  if your on your profile page, it will bring up options that allow u to modify your profile.  if you r here in disscussions, it will give you options to start a disscussion.  if u want to edit a disscussion u started, go to that disscussion and click the green action tab and u will see edit disscussion.  u just have to explore a little to find where everything is.  and as a rule of thumb, if u dont see the option u want on a certain page, check the green action tab.  :-)
