My habit is smoking cigarettes...I have set a goal to quit smoking completely by my birthday in may.
That's a wonderful goal, Takisha! Stick to it! You can do it!
The biggest habit that I would like to change is procrastination. Instead of waiting until "next time", I am forging ahead and asking "why not" and setting benchmarks to getting tasks/assignments done.
I also tend to procrastinate. I don't know what type of solution would help me change this habit. Maybe setting small goals to eventually achieve a bigger goal may help. I often find myself procrastinating because I am looking at the big picture of things in my life. For example, studying for my degree, I always seem to find myself saying "That's a lot of work" for my degree. Maybe setting smaller goals will help me fix my procrastination problem. A goal such as: "I will complete one lesson a day for my studies". It is a small and very achievable goal which will lead to accomplishment of the big goal of graduating with my degree. Do you have any tips?
Setting goals Rocky! That is a great way for procrastinators to get things done! I just vane to remember or should I say take time to check my goal list! Lol
~need! Not vane! Hate auto correct plus I can't type this morning!
I would have to say procrastination is definitely one of my top habits I would like to break. One aspect I try to keep in mind regarding this issue, is that I can sit there and worry about it and put it off, and put it off, and then at the last minute try to rush and get "it" done (whatever "it" may be). Unfortunately, this usually leads to me overlooking certain things, and generally I dont feel as accomplished - even if/when I do get it done - as I do when I stay on top of the task. For instance, something as simple as doing laundry....ugh! It seems like such a daunting task, and in all honesty, once I actually finish, I feel good about it, and typically it didnt take near as long as I had presumed it would! Not to mention, it's nice being able to go to a drawer and take out clean, unwrinkled clothing, versus having to search the house up and down, only to find that what I was looking for is dirty, or sitting in a basket of clean clothes which are all wrinkled from sitting in there. Also, with two young children, if I do wait to long to do the laundry, one load somehow turns into what seems like 10, and it really just creates more work which in turn becomes an overwhelming feat, whereas if I stay on top of the chore it is merely a simple task! Procrastination causes much unnecessary stress, and turns one simple task into a very large one, or multipe tasks.
I get upset quick.I don't really like to because sometimes it can make you do or say mean things.sometimes I mean to say and sometimes I don't. But over all i am a very nice person. and i hope that your goal of quiting smoking goes really well.
Well, I was actually replying to the post about procrastinating when I noticed yours, about getting upset to easily. This is also something I can relate to. However, I am glad to say that since having my two beautiful children, it is something that I have been working on! Procrstination, getting upset easily, and attempting to reanalyze something that I generally have already over-analyzed, if that makes any sense (considering I am now analyzing what I have typed, and whether or not it does make sense!). I think I tend to worry to much about how others will perceive what I am saying and take it in a completely different way than that which I am trying to explain. Also, when I have an issues, for instance with another person (which also liekly adds to me getting upset easily), if I feel as though I am not receiving adequate assistance in resolving the issue, I will try to analyze (for example) their actions, and form my own assumptions that seem to fit the situation; which I later then analyze, and the process repeats itself! Definitely can be frusterating.
One habit I would like to change is I worry too much about what people think. My mom says its a phase and I hope it is. I'm working at it everyday!
I also have a habit of worrying too much. Gotta remember that life is too short for the small things.
It is not something you grown out of ,it is something you have to train yourself to do,I am 45 and I still use positive thinking technics
no wonder you was upset in re. to elder......thought you was much much older ...
I was NOT upset LOL!!! I was messing with you. I and young at heart ,and to see me you would never guess my age
just over a decade older than me...lol
Now your pushing it LMAO!!!!!
another habit to change> pushing limits....knowing when to stop
I want to stop wasting my own time.
There is a book called, Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Get a Life. by-Larry Winget it is an easy quick read it may help you stop feeling the way you do. He has a few other book that are just as good, but be fore-warned he is brutally honest !
Will keep that book title on file for my kindle
Nail biting
I decided to have gel nails for the past 6 years! Then I don't bite them and they look good!
First time hearing of gel nails.
Worrying to much
Being late for work
Worrying about everything
Talkin too much and caring what my mom thinks!
I do this too, and the biggest problem with it is that my Mom tends to be very negative about everything. She could put doubts in ,I think , any ones mind. I have gotten better with letting her get to me, but I use avoidance to do it.
See you making your way to "Apprentice"....Enjoy your Easter
Thank you ,you too
Thanks
caring what your mom thinks...ha ha...I understand that all too well
going to bed late time
A habit I also need to work on especially when I'm making 7am to work
Being a co-dependent, and do more things that make me feel good.
What is sleep ,I have heard the word ,but it eludes me every night.
Ever tried sleeping pills? Every now and again its nice to get a good sleep
I do take prescribed medication, but I don't like taking them all the time. I do get insomnia for days at a time ,then I will take them, but I have to be really sleep deprived before I do,like 3 to 4 hours a night for over 5 days. A lot people in my family have problems sleeping,I wonder if it can be genetic?
maybe![]()
I worry, have anxiety at all times.
I smoke, quit date is Jun. 30th 2012
I am a chronic nail biter so I HAVE to get fake nails just to stop because it's hurting my teeth.
And, I'm not a neat nick. I wish I wasn't so messy.
You never seem anxious to me O.O.
Yes, quit smoking =P That's a good idea.
Nail biting never had that problem.
I'm pretty messy...but when I have my room a mess, I know where everything is. When it's clean, I never find anything.
So I prefer the term...organized chaos.
same her with the nail biting from time to time.
Mine is picking at my acne, my mom always yells at me to stop. So I do a little bad habit cleansing when I take a bath. I splash water on my face, ask the goddess to help the water cleanse me of the habit and replace it with a good habit like vegan eatting. I am picking at my acne less often and eatting more vegetarian and hopefully I will become a full Vegan down the road.
very bad habit![]()

Procrastination is one of my worst habits. I forever put things off thinking I actually have the time to do things when I'm "done" with whatever I'm doing at the time. Frustrating when I look at the time and its time to put my body/mind to sleep because my duties as a mom/student has exhausted me.
Being a "thinker" I will figure a plan to make it all work again.
I don't remember if I posted on this thread or not lol.
But, smoking, going to bed so late and not getting up till noon, my procrastination are three things I would LOVE to change.
Tried changing all of them multiple times the past 10 years....so hard.
I would have to say I would like to change smoking. I'm up in age and feel that I should stop, but it is so difficult and I'm afraid to gain weight.![]()
