Hi!! My name is Zoey, and I'm now waiting on my third shipment for the medical office assisting!! I love it so far I got my first shipment August 13th and finishe that day!!! In so proud of myself , but wondering how I go about taking my certification test? And do we have to intern and where ? I'm just worried about all of that:)
I Actually looked into it, this school isnt approved by the AAMA. But once you finish school, you can take 2 parts of it, the last part you cant take until you have had 5 years experience.
Btw, the website is WWW.AMAA.NTL.org. I already finished the program, I intern at my local hospital. The best thing to do is call, every medical office in your city and see what they have to offer. The one im in requires 4 hours a week in the ER and after so many months, I could get offered a job depending on my efforts and work performed. Best thing to do once your finished is to get a CPR certification or BLS, Find and internship, then decide what type of medical office you want to work in, Mainly because some you may have to be IV cert. Or Phlebomy Cert. Ive even seen them want you to fit a certian size of clothing because you may have to squeeze into tight spaces to clean machines.
I will check this out. I think there may be some confusion going on. I don't think Ashworth would say you can get certified or it was approved by an organization if they weren't. If nothing else they would be at risk for legal action for lying. Thanks for the link.
