Ok you say the price of gas is about supply and demand and that is why the cost is up, I'm going to say NO they have already showed the drop in usage, that the barrels we use is down quite a bit. Why is it one gas station can charge $3.12 and right down the street its $3.45, its all about the mighty dollar$$$$. The President can do things to make the gas price go down its called "Regulate" hold the gas giants accountable for their actions and quit screwing the little guy. You just watch when it gets time for election Obama is going to step in and make the prices drop and say "look what I've done for you, re-elect me" We need to use our own oil, and why Obama won't let us use our own is pretty stupid, the over-sea oil, if they want to blow it up let them then we won't have to pay top dollar for it, and what are they left with? Why does the US cringe every time theres a threat???????

I agree everything with you what you said except for the part that China owns us. To theory whenever you borrow money like say when you mortage your house to every you get the deal done with they do own it.  So tech yes in that sense China does own us.  But I believe we take for granted what we actually know about reality.  Global economy is where we are at and we been there for quite some time.  I don't believe that being owned or partnered with China is a bad thing.  One reason is we don't NEED to go to war with a country like China.  And secondly our and the rest of the westerned countries are changing China slowly but it is changing.  They are still communism (and no the idea of communism is not evil, it is the leadership that CAN be evil that is evil) but they are moving towards socialism. Which is good.  Anybody heard about Chaos theory.  Global economy is not about the action it is about the reactions of just that one action.  In theory if a butterfly flies it wings in South America it can create a tornado in Texas.  If you go to a stream of water.  If you take out just one rock out of the stream.  You can change the whole dynamic of the stream.  Food supply, how the fish can swim, and where and how the water is being flow to and from.  The global economy is set up just like the stream.  That is why the situation in the country Greece was so importanted and tech still is.  Because they are linked to the EU in which buys 30% of our production and if Greece would fail.  They could drag EU then drag us and then drag countries like China and Japan along with us.  And how many of you people know that China yes China is also in huge debt as well?  Here's a food for thought look at the WHOLE pic instead of looking at the individual problems.

Alright thanks for the response. You only need one ? at the end of every sentence. They are business owners and they are not required to sell it for the same price. You can buy a book at walmart for five dollars. That SAME book will cost you 7 dollars in a smaller book store. Why is this? Because the smaller book store does not get to buy in bulk like walmart does. So they order and sell a smaller number of books. In order to make a profit, they have to make higher prices. The president does not control the gas prices. If a president could control gas prices, don't you think they would keep it 99 cents a gallon like when I was a kid...about ten years ago?

Secondly, we in the United States of America DO have oil. Your right about that. Unfortunately we have about 10% of the world's oil. We have a growing population. So every year there are more people, who use more oil. We have a fix supply of oil in this country. It's like a glass of water. You take a sip and there is less water in that glass. We WILL run out. When we run out is debatable. The experts disagree. But eventually the entire world will run out of oil.

What we NEED to do is to start working on alternative fuels. I"m not an expert on them but hydro power or something. Although the technology exists it is still very expensive.

You will pay 4 dollars for a gallon of milk but have a problem with four dollar gas? You will probably buy one bottle of water for a dollar. You have no problem with buying a bottle fo water or a candy bar for that price, but gas bothers you? Now, prices are different everywhere. Maybe where you live prices are cheaper or more expensive then where I live. Where I live gas has never gone above four dollars.
