i am wondering are you taking psychology to help people with their mental health or to make money?I know money is important, but i think you have to have a longing to help people in need.
Most psych majors are in it to help people. You aren't going to get rich from psychology most of the time.
i hope you are righ because, i have met some really nasty nurses, they went into nursing for the money and do not have a bit of bedside manner. All the wrong reasons .Do what you love and you will love what you do.
k
iI have medicine resistent major depression and have recieved help from many people in this feild.i would like to give some back .I would love to either work with children or go toward criminal psychology.I can wait to really get down to work.Waiting for my books,so i will be adding many different discussions,be ready lol
Nursing isn't a good job to go into if your just in it for the money. They work hard for what they get.
I agree thats why you must want to help people first
I love to help people.
Same here. Been working in Mental Health for years
In my group of friends i am always the one that they come to when they need advise or support. think this is what i was ment to do just did not realize it till now lol
First off if you are doing this just to make money, you will never be happy with your career. I'm taking this course becuse I've always been interested in the human mid and how it works. But mostly because Ilove to help people.
nice answer and also true
Doing it because the subject sparks an interest.
Yes learning how some ones mind works the way it does is very fascinating.[including my own]
I agree. If they have the bachelors, I will take that too. If not I will do another field in the meantime until they come out with the bachelors.
I will probably need to find a different school if they don't get a bachelors degree program by the time I am finished with this degree. Either way I will have to find a new school ,because I want a Masters.
I want to switch from Criminal Justice to Psychology because in my field of Law Enforcement I have attended many specialized schools pertaining to my field. Dealing with people is what my line of work is all about. No matter what area people are on the job they will be dealing with people day and night. The biggest thing I have noticed is that we are dealing with the same people over and over again. Most are suffering from different disorders, all different types, maybe it will help me be the best I can be if I understand better. I also believe that it would greatly help me understand how to deal with employee matters. I plan to do a few more years in this line of work good Lord willing to build up my retirement plan. I am already working in ministry and that is my real passion and that is definately another job dealing with and trying to understand people. So I believe this course would help me just in life in general but i do plan on obtaing my bachelors degree in criminal justice. When all that is finished it will be time for seminary.
Im taking psychology because I want to help troubled kids I have a son that is BiPolar and he is a handfull growing up tryed to help him but couldnt I have another son who use to bring his friends home and I would try and help talk to them if they needed to talk thats why Im taking it want to counsel young kids
I am taking psychology to help people. I currently work with homeless women and their children in a transitional housing program. The majority of them suffer from mental health diagnosis, the moms and kids. I am hoping having a degree in psychology will enable me to be able to help them more than I currently do as their case manager.
