This area or "space" of the community is all about celebrating the success of Ashworth students. Success means different things to different people and what motivates one person may mean little to another. My question for you today is: What does success mean to you?
What goals do you hope to achieve here at Ashworth?
Do you plan on moving up in your current field or are you pursuing your education to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to chart an entirely new career path?
How much of your journey here at Ashworth relates to creating a better life for your family?
Who inspires you to challenge yourself and achieve success in life?
These are just some of the general questions that come to mind, but I don't want to define how you address this question. Please share your thoughts from the heart and speak your mind.
I think it's easier for everyone to help one another if we have a better sense of what we're all trying to achieve here at Ashworth College, both as individuals and as a community. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!
To me success means being able to hold your head up. Being proud of what you accomplice. My biggest success is my son. He may not be perfect but he knows how to be out in public. I get to hear how polite he is and how helpful he is. He is 17 and most kids that age don't care about other people and how they feel. He does.
As for my schooling I feel the better I educate myself the better I will feel about me.
To me, being successful means accomplishing your goals and realizing your dreams. For so long I've wanted to be back in school, and I just didn't think it was possible because our family only has one car, and one income and I couldn't get finacial aid. When I was looking at Colleges online and I found Ashworth, I thought it was perfect. It's self paced, so I can study a lot and get through a course fast or I can take a break from my studies if something comes up and not fall behind and the monthly payments are so affordable. I think it takes a great deal of strong will power to earn a degree via distance education. I dropped out of High School and earned my GED so I could raise my son; now I'm earning my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and when I'm done I plan on attending the Graduation Ceremony so my parents, husband and kids can see me walk across the stage. After I'm finished with my Associates Degree I plan on getting my Bachelors Degree as well. Eventually I'd like to work in Special Education. My children inspire me everyday. Everything I do is for them. I want a degree so I can have a steady job with benefits. I want a degree so when it comes time for my kids to go to College, they will want to because they will have seen how hard work pays off. I think you feel successful when you know you've accomplished something yourself; when you can say, "I did this." ![]()
1. Many people view success in terms of power, wealth, or fame. This is not the true success that a lot of us strive for and accomplish every day. Many of the most enduring and satisfying forms of success have nothing do with acquiring power, wealth, or fame. Success is what you make it. 2. Here at Ashworth, my goal is to complete my high school diploma and move on to College here in New York. I also would like to attend the graduation and graduate with honors. 3. For my family, I proved to them that I was not going to quit just because I dislike the schools in my neighborhood. I pushed myself ! 4. I plan on being a journalist and with the multiple courses that I'm completing with Ashworth, it will further my knowledge on this career. 5. My mom inspires me the most. She is a single parent and works very hard for what she earns. She supports her only child (me) without my dad and I think she's very inspiring. I'm doing this for her : - )
Success means to me is working hard for something we want and accomplish what we are working towards. It's not all about money or fame. Getting my H.S. diploma will be a huge Success for me.
Thanks for all the great responses. Keep them coming!
Own my own home and cars, kids college fund, retirement fully funded. In other words, I've got about 30 years to get $1 million in the bank.
mine would be owner of a unique top restaurant and my own line of products
Success for me is to finish my education get to d highest point i can manage, get promotion, own my own house, having my family together and on my side while i accomplish my goals.
I put off going back to school for 14 years, I kept telling myself how impossible it was for me to dedicate time to study for a career or go back to college with the busy life I have. I am 30 years old and enrolled in the Medical Office Assisting program and heading in the direction I didn't think was possible. I am supported by my 5 children, husband and my dear cousin who called me up in December of 2010 and said hey I found this College let's check it out.
Success to me is accomplishing goals I set each and every day.
Success means to me learning from all my life's experiences, both good and bad. Setting goals and priorities as well as an action plan to achieve them. Frequently revisiting my written plan and revising as needed. Realizing that its ok to make mistakes as long as I learn from them. Whatever I have learned, be sure to be able to communicate that to someone else. Keeping a positive, forward-looking attitude.
i started here because i didn't want to be "just a waitress" the rest of my life. not that its a bad job, it's not. i just want more for myself. i'm hoping to find a career doing payroll at a payroll company. most people i hang out with have a bachelor degree plus some. i also want to know things my husband doesn't. he's so smart!
success means to me by completing ur goals u have set for urself in life. rather that it is school, family, work, etc.
Success to me is looking into the mirror and liking the person who looks back. It is striving for the ability and the knowledge to make a difference in someone's life. Success is working toward a goal (no matter how small it may seem to someone else) and achieving it. Goals are our own little milestones, and every one reached IS a success.
Success to me, personally, would be to BE the change I want to see in the world and knowing that I am on that path after all of these years means I have reached one of my goals....a success.
success mean to me ,working hard and accomplishing all your goals in life.sometimes its optical's that stand in are way but we have to know how to over come them and find that one thing in life that your good at and never look back. keep your head held high and never let know one tell you that you cant accomplish anything because if we stay focus and believe in god we can accomplish anything.

Success to me is achieving my GOAL. To become a CPA someday, have my own business in my new community and to help others pursue their own carreer by giving them advise, determination, boost their
ego. These are my goals in life. I think, I want to be a Social Worker too? this way I will be an asset to the growth of the economy.
It means progressing forward in what ever your goal is ~ reach higher than you feel you can and go forward all the way ~ keep positive and you will indeed find and meet success! ![]()

Success to me mean that I finally made it to where I wanted to be in life.
To me success is getting where you NEED TO BE in life in order to go where you WANT TO BE.
When I think of success I don't think of a term.
I think of me having my own vet hospital, having 2-3 kids, married, living happily in a large house with many animals..
My parents and brother will most likely be living with me, while renting out our present house. LOL
Hello My name is Rose Lones. I want to be success to learn new skills on the job. I want to learn about Pharmacy to help deaf customers who other not know american sign language thats why. I want to be success in school and improve more skills too.
What Does Success Mean To You?
Hi My name is Clay success to me is Starting college and graduating and getting in to the Career I love and that working with computers and programs. And working to my goal of open my own business in anime video sales.
To me, sucess meaning reach your goals and being the person you want to be.
Like I will be sucessful once I complete highschool and go to college.
Success to me is , achieving your goals in life that you have planned to do.. A good start is to set aside goals one at a time an start from there !!!
Being a successful person can mean alot of different things to alot of different people, but I feel that success is ultimately it is up to each person. We only get one life and its really doesn't last that long, so I dont think that people should define themselves according to other peoples standards. At the end of our life we will reflect back onto ourlives and ask ourselves if we lived the kind of life that we are proud of. I believe that is why we are in school trying to further our careers and better ourselves. Success isnt just alot of money to me; its also achieving our dreams according to our own standards of success. I can honestly say that I have achieved many of my goals. Never stop dreaming, and never give up!
Success to me is the feeling you get when you are proud of yourself or what you have accomplished no matter if it is just a simple task or a goal that I have set for myself. I have been successful in my career for the past 10+ years but going to school is the one thing I quit and that still bugs me so I guess thats why after so many years Im back in school working on a degree.
Success....what is it to me?
Well lets see to me success is something that means determination, responsability, and dedication. you dont successed if you just sit back and watch the world spin you have to get up on your toes and push yourself places youve never been and do the things you never thought you could do.Me...ive had some success in my life so far but there is so much more I Will successed in, i will successed in the pharmacy field even though i get frustrated and confused at time but that why i have to stay on my toes and get up everyday and study and do my work so i Will have success in my life and future..... Keep up the hard work ppl Success is Around the corner.
Success to me means being content with where I am at in my life. And in order for me to be successful, I needed to go back to school. So, here I am. Trying to be successful ![]()
Success means: Apply your education, experience and skills to the things you choose to do, so you can achieve your goal.
Jean
In my opinion, success means to achieve new and positive learning style, enjoying and passing all my stydies, and being valuable in my new career. That could mean a prossess, which starts by changing my thinking, working and my performing( result) in the chosen field.
By Janet.
I believe that Ashworth will hepl me to get my diploma in teaching Assistant that I would not get if I did not get this flexible education, affordable tuition and career services after I am graduated. My first success step will be to receive to finish my course and pay my tuition; second will be to receive my diploma and get my couver letter, resume and referals done; the third one will be to pass the job interview trainings, and job search;the fourth one will be to pass the job interview and start working; the last one will be earning a good money that I could not earn if I did not enroll in this program with ashworth college.
Buy Janet.
What does success mean to you?
I believe that success is being happy with the decisions that you made in your life that got you were you are at the point of your success. Doing what you love and being who you are.
What goals do you hope to achieve here at Ashworth?
I want to earn my High School Diploma. I wasn't able to finish high school and I wouldn't settle for the GED. This will be an accomplishment that I can be proud of on my road to success.
Do you plan on moving up in your current field or are you pursuing your education to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to chart an entirely new career path?
I want to design an MMORPG. I want to study game design and getting my high school diploma is the first step.
How much of your journey here at Ashworth relates to creating a better life for your family?
First, I survived (not suffered) Shaken Baby Syndrome when I was 16 months old and it left me legally blind. By joining Ashworth, I have taken the first step in my journey that will take me to wonderful places. The survival rate for shaken baby syndrome is low and the fact that I survived and with minimal damage is a miracle. That miracle means that I have something special for me. The road is long and hard but it will end at a pot of gold somewhere over the rainbow..
Who inspires you to challenge yourself and achieve success in life?
Every single baby that didn't survive being shaken. Every single little soldier that is fighting to stay alive or remember how to brush their teeth. I want to be the voice saying that we won't be beaten down.
Leonardo da Vinci. He incorporated whole brain thinking to achieve ultimate intelligence. His creativity and genius are ever inspiring.
God. For giving me a chance at life. I won't let you down.
Sorry it was so long. ![]()
My Goals from Ashworth are to earn myTeacher Assistant diploma;and the bases skills to preparing me to go to the next level of earning my teaching certificate or degree in the education field.I am currently working in that field and I fund that I needed a diploma to secure my career option from Ashworth community college to refresh my confidence and knowledge. This journey at Ashworth college, it is answering my family's problems: I am a single mom of a five years old. I don't have family members here at where I live.
I used to ##work at the nursing homes and I had to pay extra money to the baby seating, which was very expensive. My daughter lives so much to see me around her, take her to school and pick her up after school. The day I was going to work at the nursing home she was beeing dipressed. My self when I was coming back home I was feeling very tired and the money I was getting was all paying the seater.I thought that I was not going to do that for my all life.I applied to the public school as a substitute Educational Program Teacher.
When I started working at schools, I liked it.I Iiked being with children. It makes up my physical activities, my mind relaxational and my social relationships with those little angels, included their families.Sometimes I get assignments at my daughter's school and when she sees me she feels very happy and she comes with her friends to see me, which it makes me very happy to see that I am changing many lives and I am improving my life situation. The school activities start little late than working in the nursing homes, and I can take my daughter to shool before I go to work. I won't need to pay extra money and we get home to gether, eat to gether and have diferent activities toghter that we never had before. When I finish to serve my daughter, I take my book from Ashworth and study.
Ashworth is educating me to improve my life, my family and the community for tomorrow. When I was searching to which school I would enroll in, Ashworth was number one answers my personal disere, family and financial situation. When I am done my program, I am going to keep working and save money for earning my degree in the related field.Ashworth is not only educating me, but is mentoring me.
By Janet M.
Again, here at Ashworth success means that many people will keep enrolling in the program that it offers and achieve their goals. Ashworth community will keep growing in number of new students and sinior members.Ashworth will not be forgotten in the world hystory.

Success means to reach my new career goals on the time that I planned to be met.

Success means to me owning my own bussiness and holding my head up high
Achieving goals maybe even going higher!
Succcess to me means I finally took my life and goals and I am achieving my dream of becoming an Vet. Asst.I am looking to better my career, I am one at that age where it may have been out of the question because I thought it was to late to change or to make a difference. I am to young to be old and to old to be young but I know I can still make myself successful with studying , working, and keeping my home safe and happy with my dogs right by me the whole way.
Success, to me, is when a person tries their very best at something regardless of the results.
I will contiune to wok toward other degree's in the future.Success it when you are able to share what you have learn to change another person or person's life.

Any thing I need to improve/ develope my knowledge to make difference in my life, family and my community that is success, which I will gain from Ashworth through my career of choice; that is the meaning of success to Ashworth. If Did not enroll in any career with Ashworth, I could not be aprouded by Ashworth; even if Ashworth did not know me, Ashworth could not interact with me and my life, family and my community could not get any difference like it does now due to the Ashworth's education. So, thanks Ashworth for making me how I am. I will tell my friends about you.
Success to me means achieving an objective, one that was challanging but got me to the finish line. In addition to having a more positive state of mind and gives encouragement to achieve greater things.
success means to me is finding a job that I can continue too further my career goals and advance in the medical field. I think it is very important to keep succeeding in my area of study. that's what I consider as success.
For me success is the feeling of being proud of myself. Although I have many things I want to succeed in, each one is an accomplishment that gets me closer to my goal. ![]()
Success is....
S- Sure of who I am, and my ability to obtain the knowledge I need to better myself.
U- Unmovable from my goals.
C- Counting up the cost
C- Committed to becoming the best
E- Every tear I shed because I want to give up, as I press on.
S-Sacrificing
S-Sure of who I am , and my ability to obtain the knowledge to better myself.
Success is:
Never being dettered from my ultimate goal. Being a pessimist is not necessarily a bad thing, but being optimistic will prepare you any tribulations to come. I am determined to fullfill my aspirations for I have been longing for this oppurtunity for some time. When I do reach that final stretch and feel the emotional strain I will endure, so that I will relish in the fruits of my labor.
"As the autumn breeze scatters the golden leaves, so falls these trials before me"

Success means to me alot of things, achievement, goals,to become a better person in life for not just me but for my family.
success means a lot to. success means achievement.Ashworth hnestly gave me this glow for school and i really love Ashworth for that because when i couldn't find nothing that suited me they was there.Thank you ashworth
To me success means finishing everything I start and not giving up. I'm persuing my education to create a new career path. I hope to achieve all my goals and complete my high school education. My entire journey relates to creating a better life for my family. My sister inspires me to challenge myself and achieve success in life. I don't like to start something that I know I can't finish. My favorite saying is "If you can't finish something you start, than don't try to do it".
success to me is showing my 3 kids that even though i got my hands full being a single mom that anything is possible i graduated my first course conservation and now on my way in completing 2 more college courses child care skills and forensic science hopeing to take one more human resourse managment, showing my kids a good way and that school is important no matter how old you are and completing my goals that is true success to me
success is everthing to me...without success or the drive to succeed i wouldnt be taking the steps im taking now to acomplish any of my goals.....bottom line is if it wasnt for success people wouldnt have the motivation to do anything with his or her life...
RE: What Does Success Mean to ME?
Right now it means I to my first test today and made a 95 on it. It felt so successful and this is the first good thing to happen since the first of the year. I didn't eat my black eye peas for the new year.
My mother passed Jan 17th and finally at peace. My next door neighbor that has held me together for 7 years with all the problems with our son. I'd walk over to his patio and he would wave me in. I'd tell him I needed my Daddy and he get this grin and say"What has the boy down now?". He had dealt with trouble kids in trouble for years, so he understood more than my husband. I lost Bill on March 1st. We lost his wife 1996, his middle daughter, later summer 2010 to cancer and his son Dec 23rd, 2011. Bill died of cancer himself. We lost my husband cousin around March 1 and a good friend Monday to cancer. So a 95 is the most success I have had in a long time!!!! YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yaaaaaaaa that jus the beginning of good things to come i speak the peace of God over you and your family
Success is seeing something in life that is challenging, taking it on, and then succeeding. After it all, you grow and learn from the experience. That's what I want.
success means everything to me,and without it,life sucks
Success means bringing your kids up right. Watching them have to make their own mistakes and doing the right thing. No where on your gravestone will it say what a good worker you were, but it sure will say loving mother/father and devoted wife/husband. Success is in your family. Being a good student and bettering yourself through education is just a cherry on the cake.
Success means making sure i work hard to finish the phramcy tech program. By making time to really study
I dream of this everyday.
I wan't my parents to see me accomplish my college degree. Get a better job because of it, love what I do and be a role model to my 5 year old nephew. Grab a better future for my boyfriend and I, and just love what the future will bring. I want to be viewed for working hard and going for my dreams!
it mean alot to me
Success means achieving something desired and planned. My goal is to complete my Bachelor degree in business and pursue a Master degree. The element of success is exceeding simple when you put forth an effort to fulfill it. I feel so honored to get the opportunity to pursue my life-time goal.
RE: What does success mean to you ?
What success means to me is having the ability to accomplish what you want without people standing in your way and telling you that you will never make it. Success to me also means being proud of what your doing not only for yourself but also for your family. ![]()
Success to me means reaching a goal and fulfilling a dream. Or becomeing stronger out of/ or because of a tough situation.Success is doing something with your life. Even if that means chasing after your dreams, no matter how long that takes ![]()
No one argue that we all need money, but success is not only about having it, I think the most successful people are those who make a living out of something they are passionate about.
For me success is all about self content and accomplishing all the goals that you set out to accomplish. For me personally its starting my own fashion line (Bags and accessories). Becoming a well known fashion designer and launching a successful brand name.

to beabel to make it through this course even thought I have a TBI and start a creer as as avet asstint
Success is failure turned inside out! Success for me would mean completing the goals towards the lfe I envision for myself. It would mean success for my family as well, because they will have a point of reference to what it means to be fulfilling their dreams.
