hi, im sarah and ive been studying since aug. and i think im doing pretty good considering i still can say alot of the words. there are times i get frustrated but i always pull through. i also find it alot of help to use the study partner when im studying
im working on the diploma program for now im going to see where this takes me first but, as far as i know the books are all i know to do ive got some extra books to kinda help me along understanding things and the CD that comes with the book really helps with them medications.if there is anything i can help you with let me know
Thanks for asking this helpful question. I, also found it a bit difficult most especially, at my very first time doing a distance online learing program. What i did was to firstly familiarize my self with the six steps to success in this course.Knowing where to study,Having self motivation, Knowing why must i study, readind actively to stay alert to improve my reading comprehension, knowing how fast should i read, and Taking a review of the reading assignment so as to help prepare me for the achievement examination questions.concludingly, once you follow these useful hints, i tell you the truth success is sure...
well your exams can be taken once logged in with the account used to register at the ashworth community college. Once you have logged into the community, look at the far right hand corner where it says, student portal. click on the student portal and you will automatically see all of the various options such as drop box, track shipments, payments, grades, take exams etc..etc..you can then choose the desired option you will want to execute..firstly select the course you are doing for Ex..pharmacy technician, lesson 5, Hospital pharmacy practice...following this all of the multiple choice options from (a-d) will be short listed through 1-20.once u have selected the best option or letter to each question from 1 to 20 click submit and then your points or score will be posted.

I guess I'm doing fairly well considering I have to be able to multi task w/my little 3 yr old. She doesn't like to take naps so I have to basically try to do several things @ once.
Anyone else a parent and multi-tasking your courses @ same time?
im just getting started... i have 5 and it was a challenge when i started b4.. this time at least they are older and they have hw too so they can see what future hw looks like.. lol then they cant complain about their hw being too hard... for my difficult ones they will watch me doing hw and they will be more interested in doing theirs too...
i have a 3 yr old lil girl and a 11 yr old girl ... life can be hard but my husband helps me to get my study time ... i stay up late on weekends and get up early some mornings so i can have some time to myself hahaha if you ever need help just ask im more than happy to help
I just started this week on lesson 1. With the study partner CD, are the chapter reported quizzes required or recommended? Do you also have to send in the written achievement exam after submitting the online test, or any of the other excersises for that matter? Thanks for any help
Hi, my name is rochelle and i'm interested in becoming a pharmacy tech, i've tried 2 get in touch with the student services, but no answer, can u plz tell me what is the cost? and how long does it take, also i've just finished with p.t.a. coursethis month and i'm wondering when they will get in touch with me on taking the test so that i can have my certificate
I got my books last week, and I just took my first exam on lesson one. I made a B and I am happy. I'm moving on. I like that I can go as fast or as slow as I want. My goals are to complete this course by the end of May and take my cetification test in June or sooner. Good luck to you, and everyone who is taking this program.
Hi my fellow classmates. I recieved my shipment on March 21, 2011 and I've already completed my first 4 exams. I have 3 A's and a B. I am so excited for the future things to come. I hope everyone is doing well. If you haven't recieved your books yet, I am sending a "GOOD LUCK" in advance.
I am on Chapter 11 and carrying a 97 for a grade. I have 3 children under the age of 7(all with special needs,) I work full time, I'm a single mom and I'm a Girl Scout leader for a troop of 18 girls. My time is most definitely spread out thin. Thankfully, I work a midnight shift and have time to study and do the tests while I work, then I come home and enter the answers for the tests.
I have worked as a pharmacy tech in the past and one piece of advice I will give you; it is impossible to memorize everything, so get good at making note cards that you can refer to for the things that slip your mind.
Good luck everyone!
Yeah I understand that, because I waited for a long time for mybooks to come but I just finished my fifth lesson and I'm telling you that it's not as easy as I thought it would be. I realize now that going online with your disc helps out alot with some of the questions so my advice to you would be to read before taking any of the tests.
Hey im on lesson 2 starting on lesson 3 but i gatta tell you the exams are not easy! So does anyone know if theres Big test at the end when all the lessons are done? and What do i do to get my next shipment?
So far so good with my different shifts at work its kind of hard to stay focused. I just got my second shipment so I took my fifth test and my grades are good. My children keep pushing me to hurry up so I can take the certification test soon.
i wanted to tell you that I passed and got my diploma..
THE BEST THING TO DO IN EACH LESSON is to go
back to it and read it because the answer is always there..
sometimes you have to read it 2 or 3 times before you find the answer..
I hope this helps
my lowest exam grade was on lesson 5. i took more time on that exam than any other one i ever have. some of the stuff i couldnt answer i looked up online, but others i just took a guess. and when i took my exam and it tells you the pages its on i went back and checked and sure enough they were there. when i cant figure it out i just take a break, maybe give it up for the night and go back to it the next day, and usually that helps me. bc its like you've been lookin for so long and hard your aggrivated and just over looking it. good luck to you!!
my books always take 4-6 days to come in. i've been in the class almost 3 weeks and i am now recieving my 3rd shipment. it has not been too easy. but i really enjoy it. i just don't know what to exactly study for when i have to get "licensed" because every state is different. but i wish everyone good luck!!(:
plus, they make it harder by making the tests for the school so easy.
You can breeze thru the school exams but then have lots of trouble with the real exam.
Wish the tests were harder so Id be forced to study harder. The program demands you do it all, no one is really there pushing you, for better or worse.
heck with all this moveing from apt to apt all of a sudden, and with the grandson being out for spring break, I havent been able to concentrate period.............as of Monday I am hitting these books!!!!!!!!!!!
and u know it wont be easy without a instructor in front of u but da best u can do is get chu a pacc of different colored high-lighters and just mark wat chu think is important based of yo lessons dat way u will have any idea of wat to study.........and i feel dat we should all stay in contact to help each other down da line to make dis easier and fun and da same time as it been hard
I am looking forward to starting my Pharmacy Tech course. Thanks guys for the hints I have read them all and will be going out today to get some highlighters, tabs, and note cards. I can't wait for my books to arrive . I would love to stay in touch with anyone and having a study partner would be great.
I must express with delight that choosing to do this course was not a mistake. I started this program on june 14/011 and have completed the first four (4) lessons in pharmacy tech getting a pass in all four lessons I, have obtained 2 As and 2cs so far. currently, I am on lesson 5 and will soon be taking my achievement exam. Thanks once more the ashworth community family for your intricate role in transforming the lives of we the future generation in becoming better and promising future leaders.
Hello I have been doing great in my classes. I started my classes in the middle of September and I only have 3 more exams to go.My lowest grade is a 75-C and I only have 3 of those, but i'm also taking veterinary assistant classes. I enjoy all the lessons:-)
Hi I was just giving an update in my pharmacy tech classes. I have finished and received my diploma. I finished with a 4.0GPA. I am so excited to receive my diploma today. I would like to say good luck to who ever is still taking their classes.
Hi. I am still a newby to the program. I started my lessons about 4days ago and has jus completed Lesson 3. I got a 80 and a 85 on my first 2 Lessons but didnt do to well with Lesson 3, i got a 60 ugh...Lesson 3 really stomped me cause it had the math in the lesson, i was really frustrated and feel that i am really in need of a tutor to walk me through the math. I took the exam again and recieved a passing score of 70, but i am still in need of major math tutoring...Any suggestions on how to go about getting help with the math???
Hi Carlita. We have math tutors available to help you in the Study Hall. If you'd like help in Math, please start a discussion in the Study Hall and a tutor will follow up with you directly. The tutors are very helpful!
I was woundering if I could transfer out of the pharm. tech. into early childhood edu.I work at a daycare and have for some time now. they would help me pay for my edu. any ideas of how to do that???
Was this cleared up for you?
Anyways, when you take the online exam you get an email? Also, when you finish the units in your current study guide, (the first set was 1-4) Ashworth will automatically send your next set. The shipment as always can take up to 7-10 business days.
