The US Military is testing an unmanned hypersonic aircraft that can reach anywhere in the world in under an hour.  It can go from New York to LA in just 12 minutes. DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) has designed this triangle-shaped super airline that can travel at speeds up to 13,000 mph (that's 3.6 miles a SECOND) and withstand temperatures of 3,500 degrees Fahrenheit.

This will be the second test of the  Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2, or HTV-2.  The first flight crashed into the pacific a mere nine minutes after takeoff.  The one thing this article does not say is what the use of this technology will be.  What do you think the HTV-2 will be used for?
