I really hope to make some good life long lasting friends while I am here at ashworth. I am 31 and have six kids my husband and I are good people and always jump up to help those that need help. we love to bbq with our friends and do fun things with our children as a family. Everybody I have met here has been so good to me.

today i started my first lesson, and it was not to bad. Some of the questions were hard but not to hard, later on tonight im going turn in my first lesson.. wish me good luck!! but the bad thing about my homework, that is making it hard is that my hubby doesnt understand that im studying and he will not leave me alone and he comes in the same room as me and he makes as much noise as he can... and i just started so i hope that he stops soon.. The good thing about this is im really looking forward and making it to the end of highschool... Something ive wanted since 97'...

I am still some what new to this program, and just discovered this whole blog thing. Its pretty cool!

Now I do have a question, What's the difference between starting a discussion and a blog?

well i just got my first book for the high school. (introduction).. and im so lost. not sure where to start, how do i send my activitys.. and i had my transcripts sent to me un opened, where do i send them... Then there was a letter sent to me about ta ID card and i dont have one! where do i get that.. I thought school was going to hard but this is crazy!!! I know things are not going to be easy but i thought that was only for the exams, not the rest of it.. The cool thing about this is that my little girl that is in preschool said that she is happy that mommy is going back to school like her.. That right there is my push to work hard not only for her and the kids but for me.. i droped out in the 9th grade and had my first baby, going back to school was something i always wanted but never had the time or help and i thought i could not do it.. and now i have been a mommy and its now my time to do something for me... Hopefully once i get started this will seem better and easier for me to understand, since me not knowing much about online things...

I stumbled upon this funny image just now which assigns stereotypical high school roles to the various forms of social media.  As comical as it is, notice the number of social media and other websites we use on a daily basis! There are 22 different sites on there! If you think about how the Internet is a relatively new concept and now it is an integral part of our lives.  We now talk to our friends online, go to school online, shop online, and so much else.

This raises the question of whether we are too connected.  Because of facebook and twitter we can let everyone know exactly what we are doing at any given moment of the day.  Foursquare lets everyone know where we are.  Flikr broadcasts our photos and Linkedin helps us find jobs.  Every moment of our lives is now documented on the world wide web. What do you think of this?

I am going. to go far when I finally have my diploma, I will also be showing my children that a diploma hels to go farther in life. people with a high school diploma earn more money than those who dont have a diploma. I am going to go to college to become a private investigator after I graduate. Ashworth is a great place to be i love it here. everybody has been so nice to me.

I can't wait to get my diplploma i am going to frame it as soon as i recieve it. I hope everybody here is doing well and enjoying ashworth as much as i am.

my family is very supportive of me being here.

I am off to bed after a long, and kind of boring day!.

Although,Sunday's have always been boring In my book.

at least tomorrow Is the start of a new week, and perhaps a better one as well [:.

This week has been nothing but stressful!

Stress over school, and lack of Income..

No jobs In town!

And oh how I miss my friends at my former work place (tear)

But, for now I am going to brush my teeth, go to bed and look out my window Into the night sky until I fall asleep [:

Have a great night and an awesome start on your week, Everybody!

Hi All,

I needed to get this out because it has really been upsetting me for a while now.I really don't understand ppl at this school and by ppl I mean students.... It really makes my blood boil that students sign up for these programs and don't have a full understanding of what they are paying for n then wanna curse Ashworth out! They can't or just DON'T bother to read! Like seriously ppl come on! Everytime I see a post where another person is yelling at poor little Steph n Danny I wish I could just jump through the computer on them!!!! I don't get how you can go to the school website (ashworthcollege.com) and not get a clear understanding of the course of interest. When I joined I did my research and knew ahead of time what I was paying for.I didn't ask stupid questions (that's a serious pet peeve of mine) that were already in BOLD letters on the college website.

The thing is that most ppl really don't take the time to read and use GOOGLE and do research anymore. When I say that, I don't just mean about Ashworth but about the program that you're interested in.Know what the requirements are for the course your looking at (also for the state that you live in) BEFORE you sign up! Don't just sign up thinking you are paying for one thing, when in reality your not. I'm in the High School and Medical Office Assisting Program. I was well aware of how things worked BEFORE I made my first down payment.I asked questions and got the answers I needed. I did not get into the MOA Program thinking that an internship would come with it, or that I was going to get hands on experience from Ashworth, OR that this was even a Certification Program. All those things I knew before hand.To do clerical work in the medical field you don't have to be certified, but I recently read a discussion where this guy went off on Danny trying to say Ashworth screwed him cause HE didn't read and have a full understanding of what he was paying for! On the website it clearly states that the Medical OFFICE Assisting Program is to help you be able to assist around the office,NOT drawing blood like an Certified Medical Assistant would. My real issue is the fact that ppl want to snap on Ashworth when their facts ain't even straight! That is just so dumb to me! OMG! You really can't bash Ashworth cause you didn't read.

I honestly hope that someone reads this and learns something....Please stop the madness cause Ican't  take seeing another student be disrespectful to Ashworth Staff cause you can't read.I'm done though.

Sigh

Thanks

Hi. I was wondering can anyone tell me how to know when your due date is for your lessons? Also, do you have to take a summer break? Or can you work through to finish early?
