When it comes to planning a wedding, there are many factors to consider. You have guests coming in from all over and often times, those guests are spending their own money on new clothes, plane tickets, gas to drive in, wedding presents, hotel rooms, e.t.c. For these reasons, many brides and grooms choose to have a little something for their guests to leave with and remember the day by.
Some choose some kind of candy or other edible party favor for their guests to take home. While personalized m&ms are cute, they won't last long. In fact, often times these tasty treats don't make it out of the reception hall because they are just too yummy. Other couples go for more of a "fun" feel. They may iron "I danced my socks off at Jim and Marcy's wedding" onto a pair of socks. These are fun and kitschy, but will your guests wear them?
The same token goes for many other "traditional" party favors. Like everything in wedding planning, you won't be able to please everyone. Instead, choose something that represents the couple and will be a good memento for your guests.
