Certified Nursing Assistant often is called CNA is truly a career of love. CNA requires you to have a patient of a saint and a physical stamina of an ox.  You will require to lift patients in and out of bed.  You will also have to take orders from every nurse in your department.  You are at the lowest ladder of the nursing career. Having said all of that CNA is taking around six months to get certified to work.  You can take your certification online, and you can retake it if your scores are not high enough.

CNA works best and gets paid the most when she is working for the private home sectors where you can become invaluable ally to the older people.  Most often you will get paid more, and you can sometimes get paid to live in.  Not sure if this situation applies to you or even that is something you want to do but for a young person who in desperate needs to make money, becoming a CNA can be a great career choice.

You don't have to stop at CNA.  After few years, you can apply for LPN.  With experience working as CNA often you can by pass 70 hours hands-on training and/or you can trade some of your work experiences in place of credit hours.

At best I would look up on CNA as a taste of nursing experience.  A truly great nurse is the one who can take orders explicitly and do not complaints at her supervisors.  She will work in silent and offer smiles or words of encouragements to those who are sicks.  Most often the sick people can be very demanding, and their attitudes can be one of the ungrateful.  However, you are there to help them, and you get paid for your time, and that is where you should only think about.

If time and money are allowed, I would pursue LPN career and after working for two years I will take classes online and become BSN.  BSN stands for Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  BSN is one of the top paid positions in the nursing fields.  Most often hospitals will not promote you even you are the best RN (Register nurse).

Being a nurse requires a different kind of attitude and disposition.  It's one of the careers that you will have to endure a lot, and you must leave your ego at home.  If you can take orders without questioning and do exactly as you are asked your career in nursing can't help but excel.

So if you are not sure which way, you want to go, I suggest you opt for the CNA route.  CNA classes can be taken online, which are one of the most blessing's thing out there?  You can start to work immediately.  You can apply to work for the private home healthcare which is going to be the next boom in this country as well as abroad.
